Apples must be handled like eggs, Carefully! Any bumps they take are likely to cause bruises which will leave soft, brown spots where rot can start.
Gently grasp the apple with the PALM of your hand and twist it slightly upward.
If apples drop from the tree you are picking, please pick them up.
Carefully place - don't drop - the apple in your bag.
Be careful not to bump the bag.
Gentle handling your apples will help you to keep them fresh and crisp.
Some do's and don'ts
1. Pick only the variety available and only in the area assigned.
2. Treat each tree with care. Do not climb on the trees.
3. Never shake a tree or its branches.
4. Handle each apple as if it were an egg.
5. Do not throw apples :)
6. Do not smoke at any time even in your car. Tobacco carries viruses that cause apple tree disease, and barns and dry grass are a fire hazard
7. Do not bring radios, lunches, pets, bicycles, or bare feet into the orchard.
8. Do not litter!
9. Apples should be washed before eating.
