K-Elementary
5-8 years old
Make a list of the animals you see living in trees. When you are finished
making your list, create a play based on one day in the life of these tree
animals. Make sure everyone has a costume and role to play! When you are
ready, invite your friends and family to a live performance.

Tip:
Find used and donated clothing and furniture at your local Goodwill.
Middle School
8-13 years old
Do you know what the word "sustainability" means? As a class adopt a
wetland, forest, or other natural environment that has trees. Have a field
trip and spend the day exploring, cleaning, restoring, and enjoying it.
Individually or collectively, commit to consciously caring for this
priceless habitat throughout the year.
Needs:
Bus transportation
Cleaning supplies
Diaries/Journals
Signs and uniforms
Tip:
Work with your local Park and Recreation officials to find a nearby
habitat that can use support. Often park officials are looking for
dedicated volunteers to help keep the parks and forests clean, so they
will happily provide supplies like rakes, bags and gloves.
High School
14-18 years old
What is the definition of service? Research the work of Dr. Wangari
Maathai. What part did service play in her life? Write and perform a
monologue to praise the work of Maathai and post it on YouTube!

Sound & video recording devices
Time to practice
Tip:
Most school libraries have AV equipment and support technicians to help
design school based projects on the Internet . Ask for help!
